Being a genius has to do with both inheritance, and your surroundings. Geniuses are those who "have the intelligence, enthusiasm, and endurance to acquire the needed expertise in a broadly valued domain of achievement" and who then make contributions to that field that are considered by peers to be both "original and highly exemplary." So Simonton falls back on his "intelligence, enthusiasm, and endurance" formulation, rather than IQ tests and other tests. Cloud believes that being a genius is made up of more than just one factor but instead many contributing factors.
This shows that it is hard to be considered a genius. There are many factors that can affect you in being a genius. It applies to me academically because being a genius is not as simple as some people make it seem. To be considered a genius it is more than just being "smart."
